Hardcover, 600 pages, several hundred illustrations (many of them in color). Book text in english !!! - No, this is no Science Fiction! Admittedly it looks like... But all the exotic machines shown in this book have either been built by the German Navy in WW II - or there was at least the firm intention to do so! So did you know that the German Navy was the first to start rockets from a diving submarine? (not Polaris-sized ones - but it was rockets!) Or that there was already a stealth material to hide the headpieces of the schnorchel airmasts from allied radar? And the prototypes and mere projects are even more exotic! So what about the „Seeteufel“ („Sea Devil“) - a strange cross-breed between submarine and tracked vehicle? Strange, isn’t it? But they really built at least one of its kind! Technically more realistic - but by no means less futuristic - were the high-speed submarine projects such as „Delphin“ („Dolphin“) or „Schwertwal“ („Orca“), appropriate names for these elegant diving machines (it would be a shame to call them just sub’s...). Equally unusual was the „Tornado“ catamaran surface-glider powered by a sort of... jet-engine! Here you can see them all - more often than not in full color! Oh yes, there are some „normal“ submarines in this book, too - but even them aren’t at all boring... wanna bet!? Autor: Waldemar Trojca, ISBN 83-919215-8-1
